Freeze-dried materials are stable, but they are happiest kept cold, dry and out of the light. So from the moment a batch arrives with us until the moment an order is packed, it sits in controlled cold storage.
The set point is −20 °C, and materials are kept desiccated and protected from light. Keeping conditions steady is the whole point — nothing is left sitting at room temperature waiting to be picked, and each batch is held against its reference so it can be traced through to the order it ships on.
When an order comes in, the material is picked straight from that cold storage and packed into an insulated box for transit. The aim is to keep the cold chain intact right up to the point the parcel leaves us.
It is not glamorous, but consistent storage is what stands behind everything else — the same conditions, the same handling, every time.
